Vinted Members Share Anger Regarding Sizing Updates

Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing.

The second-hand shopping app has altered its sizing categories for female and kids' apparel failing to inform all shoppers about the modification.

Online Platforms Response

Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification.

The platform stated the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces.

They have suggested members to examine their items and manually change the size if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.

Size Classification Modifications

Previously, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.

In some cases, the sizing has been recategorised - such as a large size was previously a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Member Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

A different member, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22.

"Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they may become frustrated," she said.

Necessary Adjustments

A different user, located in England, stated she felt frustrated due to the update requiring manual adjustment the measurements for "each individual item".

"Personally, this is quite irritating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated.

Marketplace Information

The platform boasts over 100 million members, with 18 million British users.

It has become a favored option to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time that an unexpected update on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
